Who should win the Ballon d’Or
The big question still looms in the football world as to who should win the Ballon d’Or this time.
The contenders like usual are selected from the top 23 best players in the world.
Lionel Messi and Ronaldo managed to seal their places in the final once again. The pair have been battling for the title of the best player since 2008.
Messi has won four Ballon d’Or titles consecutively from 2009 to 2012, while Ronaldo won two, one in 2008 and the other this in 2013.
Joining them in the run for supremacy is new comer and Golden glove winner goal keeper Manuel Nuer, who has proved himself time and time again why he is second to none.
However Nuer himself said that his chances of winning the coveted title is bleak as the other two finalist, Messi and Ronaldo have an advantage of a global brand status over him.
Fellow Barcelona teammate Xavi believes that Messi should be the winner as he played a vital role in taking his team to the finals of the FIFA World Cup this year.
Sergio Ramos who was also named in the list of players wants his Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo to bag the title because of his exceptional skills on the field.
Manuuel Nuer is also backed by many supporters including Manchester UTD’s Louis Van Gaal who believes that this year’s title should be give to a player from the winning team in the world cup. If Nuer wins the Ballon d’Or then he will be the second ever goalkeeper to achieve it after Moscow’s Lev Yashin who won it in 1963.
