Vodafone rolls out 4G VoLTe: Here’s how you can avail it

Leading mobile operator Vodafone announced rollout of its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gujarat to offer high-quality voice calls with faster call set-up time to users.

Voice over Long-Term Evolution or VoLTE is a standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones, that offers superior call quality and improved coverage and connectivity.

Here’s how customers can avail Vodafone’s 4G VoLTE:

Vodafone 4G customers

Vodafone 4G customers can avail the VoLTE for no additional charges and all calls will be billed as per existing plan or pack benefits, Vodafone said announcing the roll-out of its VoLTE services across Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gujarat (in Surat and Ahmedabad).

> VoLTE-enabled devices

Customers with VoLTE enabled devices can access Vodafone VoLTE.

> To check if your handset is VoLTE-enabled, you can check it either by clicking on this link – www.vodafone.in/volte , or SMS 4G CHECK to 199.

> Ensure that your handset has  a Vodafone 4G SIM and the handset has been upgraded with the latest software provided by your handset manufacturer.

> Enable the VoLTE voice calling feature on your smartphone. Follow these steps to enable them:

For Android: Settings -> Mobile networks -> Turn on VoLTE call.

For iOS: Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Enable 4G ->Voice and Data.

Since these settings may differ from one handset model to another depending on the handset manufacturer, you may call 198 for any further assistance.

Vodafone VoLTE service will be launched in Karnataka and Kolkata next, and thereafter across India in a phased manner in the coming months, the company said in a statement.

“Accessible on popular 4G mobile devices with a Vodafone 4G SIM, customers can make calls using Vodafone VoLTE and enjoy HD quality crystal clear voice with super call connect…,” a Vodafone statement said.
